Frequently asked questions

What makes TAS Tree Service different?

We’re ISA-Certified Arborists, fully insured, and focused on safe, science-based tree care. Customers choose us for competitive pricing, fast professional 1-day service, and full clean-up—so your yard looks spotless when we’re done.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree on my property?

Often, yes. In Montréal and nearby municipalities, a tree-felling permit is typically required, and rules vary by borough/town. We’ll guide you on the process and provide documentation for your application when needed. (Owners apply for permits.) Check your city’s page for specifics (examples: Montréal, Vaudreuil-Dorion).

Are you certified and insured? What does ISA certification mean?

Yes—our team includes ISA-Certified Arborists and we’re fully insured. ISA certification signals proven knowledge and ethics in modern tree care, so you’re hiring trained pros who follow industry standards.

How do you price tree cutting, pruning, or removal?

Pricing depends on tree size/height, species, condition, access and hazards (near structures or lines), equipment needs, stump grinding, debris hauling, and permit requirements. That’s why we start with a free on-site quote. (These cost factors are standard across the industry.)

Do you handle all debris and clean-up?

Yes. We remove the tree, chip/haul debris, and leave your property looking spotless—it’s a core part of our service promise.

Do you offer emergency service? How fast can you come?

We provide emergency tree removal and take calls 7:00–22:00 daily. Many jobs are completed in a single day once we’re on site. Call for the fastest response.

Will my lawn, driveway, and garden be protected?

What equipment do you use?
We plan access routes, use the right equipment (e.g., chippers, bucket trucks, loaders), and work methodically to protect turf, hardscape, and plantings. Safety and property protection are built into our process.

Can you remove the stump too?
Absolutely.

We offer stump grinding that tackles roots below grade, leaving a level, re-landscapable area so you can replant or reclaim the space.

What areas do you serve, and how do I book a free quote?

We serve the West Island and Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Book a free quote online or call 514-701-2684 — we’re available 7:00–22:00 every day.
